Welcome to the online portfolio featuring sculpture, drawings, paintings, and other works of art by Dana Maranto. Dana Maranto has devoted his life to art. Dana Maranto attended the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore, Maryland. There he majored in graphic design and studied painting with James Hennessey and Joseph Sheppard. After college Dana started his own business building and marketing historically accurate architectural models for collectors. In his spare time Dana continued to paint subjects in a historical genre relating to early industrial America and his fascination with architecture. Along the way his paintings were featured in and on the covers of magazines.
As a perpetual student of the Classical Renaissance period, Dana wanted to expand his knowledge about drawing, painting, and anatomy. This led Dana to the Schuler School of Fine Art in Baltimore, Maryland. During his studies at the Schuler School, Dana studied with Ann Schuler and Carol Lee Thompson, at which time he discovered his passion for working in three dimensions. Dana began to study sculpture with Tilden Streett at the Schuler School and found a love, admiration, and respect for the medium.
